Rock Band 2
After the closure of Iron Lore Entertainment, I looked around at many studios who were hiring at the time. Harmonix had just come off the super success of Rock Band 1 and needed to quickly double (or triple?) their studio size, especially in their audio department to accommodate the quickly growing downloadable content marketplace.
I began on St. Patrick’s Day, 2008, as a lowly contract junior sound designer. My first task was to author the Pixies Doolittle album, and Cars’ first album packs. I was only supposed to do guitar and bass authoring, but while the directors were busy interviewing and the leads were busy training all the new hires, I went to town and completed all the guitar and bass authoring, then nearly all the vocal authoring, then a handful of drum parts.
Six months went by and I was brought on full time for RB2 development. Three months after that, I was promoted to guitar/bass authoring team lead. Shortly after that, I received the official title bump to Lead Audio Designer.
